Globetrotting: After UK, Maskal now heads to South Africa

Afro-pop musician Maskal seems to have fallen in love with the international stage as, barely two months after touring UK with five music performances, the artist is set for another international music tour in South Africa.

In an interview, Maskal’s manager Kimpho Loka confirmed the tour, saying the artist is expected to leave Malawi on Sunday alongside Nyemba Nyemba Boys, Symon and Kendall.

Loka said the show has been organised by Jizammy Lingani, who is also band leader for Mafilika, and SA-based Jam Rock Band.

“Maskal is already set for the trip and we have finalised the deal,” said Loka.

The artists will perform at Khoisan Lounge in Yeoville, Tijuka Bruma and at the De Equater between April 4 to 7.

All the performances will be backed up by Jam Rock Band and will be

curtain-raised by up-and-coming artists Miyanda and Wimello P.

There will be more anticipation from the Nyemba Nyemba Boys who are not usually on such tours and it will be up for them to prove their worth.

However, the popularity among Malawians based in SA promises to register huge turnouts at all shows.
