As early as 7pm, music fanatics started flocking to Mingle Business Complex on Saturday to witness the performance by South Africa’s popular musicians and producer Master KG. When he took to the stage following some opening acts by local musicians, the artist did not disappoint.

The Jerusalema hit-maker showed his range by acting as a DJ, singing his own songs and dancing during an extended perfomance that delighted patrons who had packed the venue.

Ipatse moto Malawi, Ipatse moto! Malawi is a beautiful country,” said Master KG repeatedly during his time on stage.

He dished out songs from his previous albums such as Skeleton Move, Jerusalema, Waya Waya and Khaya Lam. The artist also performed his new songs Uthando and Ngiyamthanda.

As he performed the new songs, the artist was surprised to see patrons singing along a sign that they already knew the songs, despite them being released just a week ago.

Supported by two dancers, Master KG also had the help of DJ Ngwazi, whom he came with from South Africa.

Random interviews with patrons showed the audience was satisfied with the South African’s energy and stage work.

Prior to his performance,

local artists also proved their worth with their performances. Piksy and Janta both did well, supported by DJ Nathan Tunes and DJ Flame.

In an earlier interview, Mingle Business and Entertainment Complex events manager Fortunata Mkawa said they settled for Master KG because his music appeals to a wide audience and transcends generations.

“He appeals to a wide fan-base here in Malawi and we want him to share

his new songs. Mingle as a venue provides an intimate environment and ambience that will allow him to interact closely with his fans,” she said
