You will need:
Reed mat (mphasa)
Pumpkins (small tender ones are better)
Wash your pumpkins
Slice them thinly
Spread them evenly on your reed mat to dry
Once dry, store in a cool dry place.
You may prepare your pumpkins just as you do ordinary vegetable mfutso. You can also add groundnut flour to them if you wish and eat with nsima.
