Mbalati withdraws from BB fans elections

Big Bullets outgoing supporters’ committee chairperson Godfrey Mbalati and his committee have withdrawn from elections scheduled for today at the BAT Ground.

Mbalati said the pullout from the elections had come about due to some reservations in the way the trustees were managing the electoral process.

“We love Bullets and we would like others to take over. We do not want to contest so that the wishes of some of the trustees should be fulfilled,” insisted Mbalati whose committee also comprised Frank ‘Nyau’ Msiska as treasurer.

The pullout gives an advantage to the other camp which Isaac ‘Jomo’ Osmans lead with Mabvuto Chibambo as some of the well-known figures.

The supporters’ polls pave the way for main executive committee elections which have attracted interest following the step down of the Malinda Chinyama-led officials.

Bullets’ secretary of the trustees Jim Kalua said he needed to verify with Mbalati before reacting to Mbalati’s remarks.
