MBCtv, SuperSport to beam Flames match

MBCtv and SuperSport will beam Saturday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group L qualifier between the Flames and Zimbabwe’s Warriors at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

MBC director of commercial services Levi Nkunika yesterday said as a national broadcaster, they are obliged to ensure that all-soccer loving Malawians, who will not make it to the stadium, should still be able to follow the proceedings as they unfold through the national TV.

“MBCtv offers front row seat to games for its viewers in the comfort of their homes and we would like to assure them that they will watch every moment of the action,” said Nkunika.

He said MBCtv has engaged former Flames internationals Yasin Osman and Chance Gondwe to provide in-depth analysis and they will be in the company of MBC’s own Frank Kandu and Paul Kamanga.

Meanwhile, MultiChoice Malawi marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda said SuperSport will beam the match live on SuperSport 3 and SuperSport HD from 14:15 hours.

“SuperSport has also announced eight top African qualifying fixtures that include powerhouses Zambia, Nigeria and Ghana for broadcast; conclusive proof that the season never ends. South Africa’s fixture against Gambia on Saturday will also be live on the World of Champions (SS4).

“Other fixtures for broadcast on Saturday are Malawi v Zimbabwe (SS3, 2:15pm); Nigeria v Chad (SS3/Select 1/Select 1 Go, 4:30pm); South Africa v Gambia (SS4/SelSA, 2:30pm); Zambia v Guinea Bissau ( SS9, 2:45pm); Angola v CAR (Max 1, 4:15pm),” reads part of the press statement from MultiChoice Malawi.
