“The tournament was really tough, the ladies played well today. But I am delighted at winning the tournament for the third time on the trot. I thank Kingfisher for hosting yet another wonderful tournament,” said Mbilizi who received a Defy cooker and a trophy as her prizes.

In the men’s category, Ron Malikita emerged the winner after registering 35 points. His runner-up was George Chimseu who counted out Bernard Ndau on 33 points. Malikita went away with a Defy chest freezer and a trophy as his prizes.

“I haven’t won a major tournament for the past five years and it, therefore, felt good to win today,” said a jubilant Malikita.

Veteran golfer Kingsley Chimdima Mhango won the seniors’ category with 33 points and got a 12-piece dining set and a trophy.

Bregger Kaingwe won the Nchalo Closed with 33 points and he got a Samsung Microwave and a trophy.

Mbilizi also had the longest drive in the women’s category while Yasin Njalale did it in men’s section. Donbell Mandala won the nearest to the pin.

Kingfisher managing director Henry Sisya thanked the golfers and the organising committee for making the tournament a success.

He said the annual tournament gives them a chance to interact with their customers.

“We had 69 golfers which was a good turnout and to us, the response was excellent. We prioritise interaction,” said Sisya.

Kingfisher also courted the golfers on their life and pension products.
