Roza Mbilizi has been named captain of the Malawi ladies golf team which will take part in the East and Central Africa Ladies’ Golf Challenge to be staged at Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC) from June 1 to 5.
Team coach Dingaan Chirwa confirmed the development, saying Mbilizi will lead the four-member team which also includes Regina Mwanza, Carol Mabalanje-Banda and Sheila Chinkhwandwe.
Chirwa also said Mbilizi has joined the team which has intensified its preparations for the showpiece that is expected to attract six participating countries including Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Tanzania.
“The coming of Roza is a big boost because as I said, she is the best golfer and Malawi needed her services,” said Chirwa who added that he is impressed with his charges performance.
Mbilizi herself said she is very excited with the prospect of leading the team.
“I am hopeful that we will do well, we are all looking forward to the tournament,” she said.
