MBS Director Of Testing Services Stephen Kuyeli has since disclosed that the bureau will from today start burning the alcohol in Mwaza.

The alcohol is sold to people in sachets, which the government banned.

Said Kuyeli:”It is unfortunate that despite the ban, some companies continue packaging this beer and in quantities that are against the law. We will continue doing our work and those found breaching the law will be brought to book.

“Today we will burn some of the alcohol in Mwanza, then on 4 April, we will do the same exercise in Blantyre to send a warning that we are serious.”

Kuyeli has also urged the general public to report to MSB anyone found selling win alcohol.

  1. Mr Kuyeli, you are not serious. If companies are still manufacturing the alchol in small satchets that govt banned, why do you not close down these companies or arrest the culprits? Go after them.

Carry out your ow investigations and identify these culprits. You tell me you can fail to identify these manufacturers? It will only take a few minutes or hoursvtonknow them.Where do think the traders are buying the alcohol from ?

Please be tough. Go to the source of the problem. You are only treating symptoms instead of tacklinn g the root problem which is where the alchol is manufactured. Please be serious with your work. Don’t just depend on members of the public to give you information. Go out and investigate.
