Mbulu wins Golden Boot

Mafco FC striker Richard Mbulu has won the Golden Boot after his 19 goals dislodged Nyasa Big Bullets captain Chiukepo Msowoya who shared the accolade with Red Lions striker Innocent Bokosi in the 2015 season.

Mbulu will receive K100 000 during the TNM Super League awards gala at a date yet to be announced.

Msowoya, who finished second with 17 goals, three better than his previous tally, netted in Bullets 1-0 win over Blue Eagles on Saturday.

Mbulu did not find the back of the net in his team’s 1-0 loss to Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium but he had already done enough to claim the title. Be Forward Wanderers striker Peter Wadabwa finished third with 16 goals.

An excited Mbulu said he was pleased to win the golden boot which he attributed to team work.

“Without their support I couldn’t have managed to win the accolade.  It’s an award which is fruit of team work,” he said. n
