Mchinji Boys Boxing Promotions plans to take its eight amateur boxers on a week-long escapade to Tanzania in September.

The stable’s owner Justice Katika told Nation Online on Monday that the trip is an educational and familiarisation tour for boxers who have just joined the field.

“I want them to learn some lessons from a country where the standards of the sport are a little bit advanced before I can arrange local fights for them.

“During the tour, they will also have a few bouts with some Tanzanian boxers. This is our first step towards building a formidable boxing empire in Malawi,” said Katika.

He added that his stable has also bought a minibus, specifically for their boxers namely John Banda, Kelvin Zambani, Victon Nyadani, Marvelous Therani, Agnes Phiri and Emily Mwale.
