Mchinji Police Station has emerged 2018 best Central Region police station, an accolade it also received in 2017.
The award, called Commissioner’s Trophy, is competed for by 12 police stations in the region.
Central Region Deputy Commissioner of Police Evalister Chisale announced the results at the 2018 Christmas Ball on December 28 2018 at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe.
She congratulated Mchinji Police Station officer-in-charge Owen Maganga and his team for their effort in policing and for defending the trophy.
“Security is paramount for development in every country. I hereby congratulate the Mchinji team for its untiring efforts and dedication,” said Chisale.
In a separate Interview, Maganga assured people of Mchinji that he will ensure that peace and order are maintained in the district.
Lilongwe Modern Police Station was named second best station of the
year followed by Kasungu Police Station.
A community policing forum in Senior Chief Mlonyeni in Mchinji also scooped position number two out of more than 100 forums in the region and received a trophy and a certificate of recognition from the commissioner.
