McLuther returns with new album

Musician McLuther Mambala has announced his comeback through a new extended playlist (EP) McLuther’s Discovery.

The artist stole the limelight after impressing during the 2014 Sunbird Search for a Star competition before he took a break.

Mambala: I have created great music

In an interview, Mambala said the project follows enquiries by his fans, including international artists, about his inactivity.

“Artists like Nathalie Makoma of the famous Makoma Group have been appreciating my music and sending me messages on Instagram. This and more has made me realise than I am more talented than I initially knew,” he said.

Mambala said due to Covid-19 restrictions, he has been spending a lot of time alone practising and writing music.

The contemporary EP titled Mtendere has songs which feature artists such as Scarlet Jei from USA, Ruth from Zimbabwe, Bongi from South Africa and Sangie, among others.

He said the project has been produced by Pereka Sibale, a producer from South Africa.

The song composer believes the coronavirus pandemic has brought some opportunities for musicians.

“I have created great music. I have connected myself with so many people. At the same time, the pandemic has rendered me broke since, as a musician, I basically make money through live performances,” he said.

The extended playlist will be sold online from this Friday.
