Mera maintains fuel pump prices

The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (Mera) has maintained pump prices of fuel to cushion the impact of the increase in the landed cost of petrol through rationalisation of levies in the price build-up.

This means that petrol price remains at K723.60 per litre, K734.60 per litre for diesel and paraffin is still at K633.20 per litre.

Mera senior consumer and public relations officer Fitina Khonje, responding to an e-mailed questionnaire, said fuel pump price is composed of a number of price elements among which is the free on board (FoB) price and the exchange rate which result into the in bond landed cost (IBLC).n
