Lilongwe’s Living Room Cafe was the hive of fashion on Friday when Malawi Fashion Week (MFW) organisers held their first ever fashion night.

Men and women were elegantly dressed and looked fabulous in their designer clothes.

The fashion cops also dazzled in their black outfits that complemented well with ankle boots.

“We are satisfied with how the day has progressed as people that came through were the ones we wanted. We are satisfied with turn out and the mixture of people was very good,” said MFW public relations coordinator Hastings Kimpho Loka.

“With how we have spent the first event, we can comfortably say people now understand what MFW is all about and what is expected during the actual event,” he added.

About 10 people were arrested by the fashion police for dressing inappropriately. Perhaps afraid of missing out on the fun of the night, they all paid fines.

Afro R’n’B star Lawrence Lulu Khwisa entertained fans with his songs from previous and new album. The surprises of the night were performances by Dan Lu and Vitu K who launches his album next month.
