One of the popular bands in Malawi Mibawa will this weekend come face to face with three Zambian leading artists in Easter gigs.

The shows start Friday in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe, and conclude in the commercial city, Blantyre on Saturday. The band is basking in the glory of one of the few outfits that have state-of-the-art equipment.

“Our target as a band is to expose Malawian music to the outside world. The country has talent but exposure has not been all that good. It is against this background that we have organised this show where three Zambian artists, Organised Family, General Kanene and B1 will perform with us,” said Mibawa band leader John Junior Munthali.

We chose them because they are close to us and, therefore, easy to build a relationship where if we go to Zambia, they can host us. Of course, the other reason is that Zambian music is big in the country so it is entertainment to our fans as well,” added Munthali.
