An uptown multimedia and events management complex has opened in Blantyre.

Located on the Limbe-Thyolo Road, just about 1.5 kilometres from Limbe CBD and adjacent to Chiwembe Township and International Timbers Group (ITG) residential area, Mibawa One Stop is a brainchild of Blantyre-based entertainment entrepreneur John Nthakomwa, who is also the owner of Mibawa Cafe.

The complex comprises high standard studios for both radio and television content, an executive cafe and an events centre.

“At Mibawa One Stop Multimedia and Events Management Centre, we boast of vast hands-on experience in events, audio and video productions with quality high-end equipment to support your needs.

“The idea is to provide a hub for all entertainment seekers. They can enjoy themselves in the high class lounge or at the events centre which is 80 percent done and should be completed in February. It has the capacity of 400 people,” said Nthakomwa after the launch at Ufulu Gardens in Lilongwe on Saturday.

Aside that, the multimillion project has a running fuel pump station, Peoples Shop and restaurants with a food court to be constructed soon.

Nthakomwa started with J&D Records and then Mibawa Cafe in Blantyre before establishing a resident band which, since 2011, has grown to be one of the most successful cover bands in Malawi.
