The country’s popular entertainment television station Mibawa TV is leaving no stone unturned in its pursuit to provide maximum pleasure to viewers with the launch of eight new programmes.

Due to diverse factors, Mibawa TV had not been able to release new local programmes for a while, but is now set to start beaming the new local TV programmes on Monday.

Introduced the new shows: Nthakomwa:

Mibawa TV managing director John Nthakomwa in an interview yesterday said: “As we are going towards the end of the year, we thought it is a good time to give our viewers something fresh and inventive over the festive season.”

He said the new programmes are mostly entertainment in nature with one weekly public debate programme, a business programme and a religious one.

The first episode of the weekly debate programme will feature actions of Bon Kalindo aka Winiko and has already drawn massive public interest.

“Within few minutes of releasing the poster, we got over 500 000 comments and more than 1 000 likes. This will be an illustrious show as it will be the public talking,” Nthakomwa said.

Another programme is called Anvil, a business programme that he said will provide the corporate world, non government organisations and government a different way of selling themselves to the public.

Commenting on the development, events organiser and actor Nkhwachi Mhango said it was great news to have local TV stations like Mibawa creating content locally.

With about 54 employees, Mibawa is one of the fastest growing and most followed edutainment local TV stations. About 98 percent of its programming is edutainment. It is also available on DStv channel 298 on Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus and Premium packages.
