Made the grade: Chipula

“This issue has been brought to my attention and I am aware of it. As FAM, we do not have any problems. As long as the two teams agree on the terms, we will issue a clearance accordingly,” he said.

However, the former Mphanje and Zomba United FC player said his manager, Venancio Patrick, has assured him of an overseas move should he impress.

Said Chipula: “I am excited that I have passed trials but arrangements are being made by my manager to secure an overseas deal probably in Portugal where he has connections just as he did with Richard Mbulu and the late Abel Mwakilama.”

He described the move as a breakthrough in his career having been frustrated before.

Michiru Madrid coach Sylus Liwindo confirmed the development, saying all is set for the player to leave for Mozambique.

“It’s true that he has passed trials what we are waiting for is a consent from parents,” he said.

The player is expected to leave on Monday to link up with the manager.

Chipula will join a host of other Malawian players plying their trade in Mozambique such as Charles Swini, Frank and John Banda, Chawanangwa Kaonga, Schumacher Kuwali and Mathews Sibale. n
