Raquub ‘Lulu’ Milanzi has become the third Malawian player, in three weeks, to seek a new lease of life in Mozambique where he is on trials at a top league side Chibuto FC.

In an interview on Thursday, Milanzi, who was sacked at Civo United some months ago, confirmed the development.

“I underwent a successful medical. What remains is the final word from the coach and chairperson who are in Portugal. So far, so good. There are hints that I could make the final party travelling to South Africa next week for preseason training. The team is based in Shaishai; a two-hour drive from Maputo,” said Milanzi.

The player reunited with Civo last season after making a name at Zimbabwe champions, Caps United, between 2009 and 2010.

Chibuto finished sixth on the 14-member Mocambola League on last season.

Milanzi joins Joseph Kamwendo and Jimmy Chikulekule who are on the books of Liga Maculmana and Matchedje de Maputo respectively.
