Mussa, in his response to the President’s address during the opening of the 46th session of Parliament, accused the Executive of fanning the conflicts.

Further, he observed that in his address, the President did not address the conflicts between the Executive, and the Judiciary and Parliament.

In 2014, the Executive and the Judiciary reached an impasse over the review of conditions of service and resulted in the closure of courts nationwide, but remains unresolved to date.

In the run-up to the opening of Parliament, the Executive also put itself in conflict with Parliament over the expenditure levels and purchase of vehicles for the Speaker and his deputies and the leader of opposition. Parliament Secretariat disputed the Executive claims on expenditure. n
