Minister hails Peace Corps

Minister of Environment and Climate Change Management Halima Daudi has commended the work peace corps volunteers undertake in Malawi, saying it is improving the lives of many Malawians. Daudi said this in Lilongwe at a swearing-in ceremony of 37 Peace Corps volunteers. US Ambassador Jeanine Jackson hailed the relationship Malawi has with the US, citing, among other initiatives, the Global Health Service Partnership places American professional medical volunteers in school of medicine and nursing. Since Peace Corps volunteering started in Malawi, over 2 000 volunteers have worked in the country. —PAIDA MPASO, Staff Reporter
