Minister, IG lead march against albino attacks

Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jappie Mhango and Inspector General (IG) of Police Lexten Kachama today led hundreds of people in Thete, Dedza, in a march to protest the killing and abduction of people with albinism.

It was a solemn occasion that saw some natives of the area weeping.

The march started at Nambilikira Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kachere where 17-year-old David Fletcher with albinism trait was killed at Thete School Ground where speeches were made in protest of the killings and also in tribute to Fletcher.

  1. Other politicians should emulate what minister Mhango has done here. Even if only in a “copy and paste” fashion, word will slowly but surely spread against this evil belief. MPs, Speaker, Opposition leaders show that you embrace PWA, who have every right to live in peace, like the rest of us.
    And thumb up for the big man, IG Kachama and MPS in general: they are doing more than their part, which is to enforce the law. Now we await the clergy, and traditional leaders to publicly denounce these atrocities committed against our bros and sisters WA. We don’t want just talk, but demos of solidarity, just like the one here.
