Miss Malawi Cecilia Khofi, who is currently in Austria on a cultural visit, says she is learning a lot about that country’s culture and how they preserve their traditions and way of life.

In an interview from Vienna, Khofi said her trip has opened her eyes to the vast differences between Malawi’s culture and Austria.

“Most people here have never heard of Malawi and I am taking it upon myself to tell them about Malawi and its rich culture as well as the beautiful places that they can visit. It has been a great opportunity for me to talk about Malawi and invite as many people as possible,” she said.

The beauty queen said among other places, she attended a classical music concert and went skiing which is part of Austria’s social life.

She said from Austria, she will go to Hungary where she is scheduled to meet young girls and talk about education and her life story.

In Hungary, she will also be a guest at an exhibition event where Jacaranda school of orphans will be featured.

“I will also have a photo shoot with the country’s beauty queen Miss Hungary,” said Khofi.

One of Miss Malawi organisers Albert Banda said the trip will help the beauty queen get exposure.

According to Banda, Khofi is on the trip courtesy of Planetrise Association of Culture and Environmental Protection and African Hungarian Union.
