The 2016/17 Miss Malawi regional finals for the centre have been shifted.

Initially, the 11 queens that won the ticket to represent the region were scheduled to battle it out on December 3.

But the organisers, leading media houses Nation Publications Limited (NPL) and Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS), have announced that the finals will now take place a day earlier due to logistical issues.

“Friday was better suited for the time and expectations we had for a venue. So, we had to shift because of that. The venue is Crossroads Hotel and all other things remain unchanged,” said spokesperson for the project Teresa Ndanga.

The Central Region finals follow a successful similar event held in Mzuzu on November 5 where three contestants qualified for the national finals on April 29 next year.

The last leg of regional finals is scheduled for Blantyre on January 28.

At the regional finals, the Miss Malawi hopefuls will parade in four categories apart from impressing the judges.

Once again, the organisers have called for sponsors to come on board, promising a wide range of benefits, including platinum advertising in the organisers’ products in return. n
