Organisers of the pageant have scheduled a national tour targeting small and medium tourism operators in Mzuzu, Nkhata Bay, Salima, Mangochi, Mulanje, Lilongwe and Blantyre.

“The trip will capture in pictures the essence of Malawi’s natural splendour and introduce the queen to the tourism industry as an ambassador. Through this, we will assist creating local and international demand for our tourism attractions,” said MWHA public relations manager Edward Kankhomba.

During the tour, Chiwaula will collect pictures of hotels, lodges, motels, guest houses and lodges for MWHA website.

“This information plus additional materials that can market Malawi as the best tourism destination in the world will be used to produce high-quality adverts, for both the sites and industry operators that will run free on our websites,” said Kankhomba.

The tour will start in the North.

Born of disagreements that characterised the road to Miss Malawi coronation in December last year, MWHA envisions increasing appreciation, awareness and involvement of all Malawians to make beauty and tourism bankable business.
