Mitc courts Malawi firms to ZIM Fair

Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (Mitc) has called on Malawian companies to participate in the forthcoming 57th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair to learn from their counterparts on how to excel in export business.

According to Mitc public relations manager Deliby Chimbalu, Mitc believes that fairs such as the Zimbabwe Trade Fair offer an opportunity for networking and learning.

“Our previous participation in a similar event attracted $147 million worth of orders. And out of this, $440 000 was achieved as actual exports,” she said.

This year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair will be held under the theme Innovate, Integrate, and Industrialise. It will run from April 26 to 30.

In an earlier interview, Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malawi (Smea) president James Chiutsi urged businesses to look beyond borders in exploiting markets if they are to grow.
