Mkolongo urges players to impress
National women football team coach Thom Mkolongo has urged players selected for the national team to work hard if they are to secure permanent places in the team.
The 32 players have been selected following this year’s edition of Fifa/FAM Cup, which kicked off on July 18 at district level.
“They need to prove that they deserve the place during this FAM Cup or they risk been dropped,” said Mkolongo.
He said the door is wide open for other players to replace them.
“During the games, we will be monitoring them. Any player, who will impress, will be considered,” said Mkolongo.
The National Women Football Committee (NWFC) named a 32-member squad which is expected to go into camp in preparation for Africa Women Football qualifiers.
The team is expected to face Tanzania in a preparatory match on a date yet to be announced.n
