Mojoo earns first NBS Bank golf triumph

Aadil Mojoo brushed off pressure of playing golf under the scorching sun at the Country Club Limbe (CCL) on Saturday to deliver a master-class performance that earned him his maiden NBS Bank Monthly Mug.

The handicap-3 golfer had a mixed bag of the good and the bad on the front nine as he pulled 36 points.

“But I felt pain when I dropped a silly shot on the second hole, which is the easiest, to make a distressing bogey,” said Mojoo who dedicated the mug to his late father, who was also a golfer.

Mojoo has now qualified for the NBS Bank Mug of Mugs Championships next month.

But Vaju Morzaria was the one-shot star performer on the day when he stroked a rare hole-in-one on hole 13.

NBS Bank marketing officer Lillian Kawaza said the bank was indebted to the golfers who endured hot weather to take part in the tournament.

“As a banking institution, we endure a lot of challenges to ensure we satisfy your banking needs. Today, you also showed your love for NBS Bank when you endured the hot weather to play golf. We are proud of you and we will always remain a caring bank,” said Kawaza.
