Calvary Family Church has been observing Month of June as ‘Month of Harvest’, also known as Feast of Harvest. JAMES CHIMPWEYA had a chat with founder of the church Apostle Dr Madalitso Mbewe for more information about this special month
What is Month of Harvest all about?
The month of Harvest is a sacred month-long gathering which takes place every June. During this month people are encouraged to diligently seek the Lord for divine instructions. The month of Harvest came as a revelation when God instructed me to call His people for a time to be instructed and equipped so that they can access God’s blessings of Harvest in their lives. Through the Month of Harvest there would be concentrated and revelatory teachings which would be instructional to the people.
When and why did the Month of Harvest start?
The Month of Harvest started in 2004 first on CFC Radio when I started sharing the key principles that would make believers always walk in their God-given harvest. This I did between 5 and 6 o’clock in the morning for the whole month of June. The Lord then instructed me to move on the following year to the church where I was to teach on each year’s theme with particular emphasis on diligently seeking God; obedience to divine instructions; believing and making positive confessions; activating the law of seedtime and harvest time.
Why did the church think about this month of harvest idea?
Many children of God have no idea that all they need is already provided by God and that they need to just diligently seek Him for divine instructions which if followed will bring their harvest.
So each month of harvest has its theme?
Each year as a church we have a theme where we rally our thoughts and prayers both as a church and as individuals. It is this theme that we try to elaborate through daily teachings for the whole month of June.
Why month of June, any specific reasons?
The month of June is taken as the time the Feast of Harvest was being celebrated and observed in Israel.
Do we have biblical understanding?
The Bible teaches us about seven feasts for the children of Israel and mentions that three of the feasts must be observed always. One of them is the Feast of Harvest (Exodus 23:16).
What have been achievements of the initiative so far?
A lot has been achieved since the inception of this programme. Many people have attended; many have given their lives to the Lord; many people have been encouraged in their faith; families have been blessed with children; businesses which were struggling are now flourishing; numerous miracles of healing and deliverance and promotions have been experienced. Above all, many people from different churches have been blessed and are serving God.
How is this year’s programme going on?
We have started on a high note as usual. This year’s theme is powerful and there is a lot of expectation and we know that there will be many testimonies and miracles. By the end of the month a lot will have been experienced.
How do you keep up ministering for a whole month every year?
It is really not easy to minister everyday for 30 days. There is need for commitment, discipline and much of prayer as well. I have a great team of leaders around me who help with other details. Above all, the Lord gives me the strength; otherwise, it is not easy.
