Banda confident of clinching Europe deal

Seven days after Hungry Lions walloped Mlezi United 13-0, on Sunday St Kaduya massacred Airwing 17-1 at the latter’s base.

Shupikire Banda was the hero of the day after he notched four goals in each half. Able Gondwe, Shabel Nankhate, Goodwin Mtawali and Chikumbutso Kamdeka scored a brace each while Tinkhani Nyirenda scored one.

Airwing coach Benjamin Chikwali said the result is a true reflection of his team’s performance.

“The players we started with this season are in Salima for military training and it has really affected us,” said Chikwali.

LDFL general secretary Bernard Chiwiriwiri said the results should not be misunderstood to mean lack of competition in the league.

He said the league has turned down recommendations from other teams to put Hungry Lions and St Kaduya in Division Two.
