It looks like Malawi has caught the attention of one of the biggest reggae bands on the planet,Morgan Heritage.

The royal family of reggae has been on social networks, daring local promoters to touch base with them for organisation of a concert in the country.

On Thursday last week, the group’s official page confirmed their Africa tour with Malawi on the menu.

“OK its official we are coming to Africa the dates have been cut out any Experienced Promoter can link us or if you know the best promoter in your country have them contact us. Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Malawi and Zimbabwe SHARE!!!,” reads the post.

Later the same day, the group was at it again urging fans to boost up the hype via local radios.

“All our fans call your local Radio Stations NOW!!! Tell them you want to hear the songs from our new album Here Come The Kings. We are coming to Africa. Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Gambia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Sudan, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Egypt do it now and SHARE!!!” reads the post which, just as the other one, attracted numerous likes, shares and comments on Facebook.

However, it is Gramps Morgan who posted specifically about Malawi on his official Facebook/Twitter page a day later.

“I think I need a trip to Kenya soon maybe and all ladies acoustic show yea mon and visit Malawi while I’m in the motherland hmmmm sounds like a plan,” wrote the group’s charismatic keyboardist and vocalist.

Gramps’ love for Malawi was echoed yet again in another Twitter and Facebook post that followed on the same day hours after the previous one.

“I need to speak with a Malawi top radio station right now!!!,” Gramps spoke aloud and louder than ever before. A number of people, seemingly Malawians, commented on this post and made their suggestions. So far, FM 101 Power dominated the poll.

“Thank you,” that is all Gramps Morgan responded to comments on this posting on Friday at 8.48pm.

Morgan Heritage is a reggae band founded in the early  1990s on the legacy of reggae vocalist Denroy Morgan and this legacy has been passed on to five of Denroy’s 29 children. The five are Peter “Peetah” Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy “Gramps” Morgan, Nakhamyah “Lukes” Morgan and Memo “Mr. Mojo” Morgan. In two decades, they have had a number of successful reggae albums.

After respective solo careers and music ventures of their own, the famed sibling group has returned this year with their first studio album in five years, Here Come The Kings. The new album, which explores new sounds that successfully fuse roots, R ‘n’B and a hint of dancehall, is co-produced by Morgan Heritage alongside ingenious producers like Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett, Linton ‘TJ’ White, Lamar ‘Riff Raff’ Brown (Notice Productions), Shane C. Brown (Juke Boxx Productions) and multiple Grammy nominee, Jason ‘J-Vibe’ Farmer.
