Moses Chavula’s contract terminated

 

Amazulu have terminated Moses Chavula’s contract allegedly following his negligible contribution to the Durban team.

 

 

“In other news, the contracts of left-back Moses Chavula and striker Stanton Lewis have been terminated after agreement between the club and players,” wrote the Durban top league side on their website on Wednesday.

 

Chavula, who is in Flames camp could not be reached for comment, but it was clear that, due to variety of reasons, including injuries, he was struggling for Amazulu game time since signing a three-year deal from Nathi Lions.

 

“I do not know Chavula a lot, but with Lewis, I wish he had stayed with us as he has what it takes to help us become regulars in the top eight. Sad he is leaving us,” wrote one of Amazulu fans naming himself Philee in a feedback to the players’ release.

 

Nathi is now called Atlie FC and has been relegated to the third-tier Vodacom League alongside Swadick Sanudi’s Dynamos.

 

On-and-off Flames duo of midfielder Jacob Ngwira and defender Sankhani Mkandawire, too, might have to start looking for new jobs as their First Division side Carara Kicks have not assured them of contract renewal.

 

At the end of a season, in which they finished 11th out of 16 teams, Carara management called the duo for a meeting, but fell short of promising them a contract renewal.

 

“The contracts of most players, including ours end next month. In fact, there are only four players with running contracts. Management just told us that they would call the players they want to retain for next season,” Mkandawire said on Tuesday.

 

Chavula is a regular for the Flames. The former MTL Wanderers player captained the Flames in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Cup match in Chad in February.
