League champions Silver Strikers could end Moyale Barracks’ six-game unbeaten run when the two sides clash on Saturday at Mzuzu Stadium.

Moyale coach Temwa Msuku, who replaced celebrated Nicholas Mhango, updated The Nation on his team’s preparations to welcome the Bankers.

“It is an exciting challenge playing Silver who are in form. But I cannot be afraid of them. Why should I? Let them come and give Mzuzu fans a football treat. They play good football and whatever the case, football will be the biggest winner,” said Msuku.

The former Mafco coach said it was a blessing in disguise that he was shipped away from Mafco after losing his job to Stereo Gondwe at the start of the season.

“You learn a lot by travelling. Here the logistical support to the team by the commanding officer is high. There is also team-work among the players. Added to my passing game playing philosophy, things are just clicking,” he said.

Silver, who face Kabwafu on Sunday at the same venue, are second on 44 points from 21 games whereas Moyale are sixth on 36 points from 25 games.

Silver, with seven games in hand, are four points behind leaders Blantyre United with 48 points Alinafe Hospital partners.
