Moyale manage a point in CR outing

Moyale Barracks FC from Mzuzu, found it hard to handle competition from Lilongwe teams as they managed only a point in their away TNM Super League fixtures played at Civo Stadium at the weekend.

On Saturday, they drew 1-1 against Epac FC before going down 2-0 to Civo United on Sunday.

Moyale assistant coach, Themba Ntontholo, admitted on Sunday that his players did not match their opponents.

“We missed the services of Gaston Simkonda because he was with the national team in Tanzania. We did not play well and wasted the few chances that were created. It has been a bad outing,” said Ntontholo.

It was a relief for Civo coach Oscar Kaunda as it was their first win after losing against Azam Tigers and Blue Eagles last week.

A goal in either half from Jabulani Linje and Lyton Kamphinda brought a smile to the home fans at last.

In a separate interview, Civo general secretary Rashid Ntelera said they did not put pressure on the coach.

“Of course, we expect good results, especially when playing at home, but we did not exert any pressure on the technical staff,” said Ntelera.
