To earn the title contested by six teams, Moyale defeated Veterans from Mzuzu Police 3-0.

Moyale also whacked Mzuzu University (Mzuni) 3-0 to qualify for the finals, having triumphed over Katoto Trickers, Mzuzu Academy and Chibavi in the preliminaries.

Moyale coach Michael Mandala said winning the bonanza was not an issue worth celebrating since the team’s focus was on winning the national championship scheduled for November.

“The win is just a step towards our success. We will be able to express our pride after earning national championship,” he said.

According to Northern Region Volleyball League chairperson Kafumu Nkhoma, three top teams have automatically qualified for the 2015 K2.5 million Raiply National Volleyball Championship.
