Moyale Barracks FC will miss five key players in their TNM Super League opening match against Nyasa Big Bullets at Mzuzu Stadium this Sunday.

The five are Gastin Simkonda, Crispine Fukizi, Deus Nkutu, McDonald Harawa and Clifford Fukiki.

Clifford, Nkutu and Harawa are in DRC on peacekeeping mission.

Simkonda and Crispine are nursing injuries they sustained in a road accident in Mzimba in March this year alongside team-mates Boy Boy Chima and Lovemore Mitengo who have since recovered.

According to Moyale team manager Gerald Kanje, Clifford, Nkutu and Harawa are expected to re-join the team later this month.

Moyale assistant coach Charles Kamanga said they are ready for the match despite the absence of the five key players.

“Of course, the gap is there, but still more, we have a strong team with the available youthful players we have secured. Expect positive results in our opening match against Bullets on Sunday,” he said.

Out of the four pre-season friendly games Moyale have played against fellow Super League sides, they lost 2-1 to Chitipa United and 5-2 to Silver Strikers. They drew 2-2 against Blue Eagles and beat Be Forward Wanderers 2-1.

On his part, Bullets coach Nsazurwimo Ramadhan said they want to win all their away games.

“We are ready for the game against Moyale. We are taking this game seriously because it will determine our current status. Be assured that we cannot accept to register an away loss in Mzuzu now,” he said. n
