Captain Lloyd Njaliwa scored both goals for Moyale in the highly contested match in the first-half.

However the second-half proved difficult for Moyale as the hosts netted two goals to level the scoreline.

In penalty shoot-outs, Njaliwa, Lesman Singini, Black Alisen, Raphael Phiri and Brown Magaga converted their spot kicks while Robert Mphezi missed.

Moyale goalkeeper, McDonald Harawa, who earned the man-of-the-match accolade, saved one penalty.

Speaking in an interview on arrival from Tanzania on Wednesday, Moyale Barracks FC general secretary Michael Chimwala  said the tournament in Tanzania helped to prepare for the upcoming Airtel Top-8.

He said: “Let me congratulate the boys for the fight. We were tactically sound and superior in the first-half. However, the second-half proved difficult as we conceded two goals.

“Still more, we went on to win the postmatch penalties and came with a trophy. The visit will be reciprocated soon as we take part in the Airtel Top-8 here at home.”

Moyale netball and volleyball teams also travelled to Tanzania.

However, the volleyball team did not play because their counterparts  failed to assemble a team while the netball team lost  52-25.

Moyale Barracks commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Thokozani Chazema was the leader of delegation.

In an interview, he said the friendly games helped the two countries to share sports experiences and widen the teams’  preparations ahead of the upcoming local tournaments.
