MP holds thanksgiving prayers

Member of Parliament (MP) for Thyolo West Charles Mchacha on Saturday last week held thanksgiving prayers to God for winning a Parliamentary seat in the May 20 elections.

Mchacha said the prayer session—which brought together people from different denominations in his constituency— was also his first meeting with constituents after the elections.

“I do not take my winning for the third time as a simple thing. God has done something worthy praising Him for and I am happy He entrusted me with this responsibility,” said Mchacha.

Bishop Mercy Ntchika of Love of God Church said there is a need for people to put God first in everything they do.

“It is good for people to recognise God with thanksgiving every time He has done something good for them. I also urge all MPs who won to remember the promises they made to their people and the church in pleasing God,” she said.

The gathering prayed for peace, stability, forgiveness and co-existence in the constituency.
