Malawi President Joyce Banda says budget director Paul Mphwiyo, who was shot on 13 September has been discharged from a South African hospital.
Banda was speaking at a press briefing upon her arrival from the UN General Assembly, US on Wednesday.
She was reacting to reports that she visited Mphwiyo in hospital on Tuesday.
