Head of marketing Ellen Chapinduka-Nyasulu disclosed this on Tuesday, saying they observed that social football in the Central Region unlike in the South was not well structured and lacked financial injection.

“We saw a gap in social football and there were no monetary benefits to motivate the game to grow. We thought of coming in to assist through this sponsorship,” said Chapinduka-Nyasulu.

She said through social football, people get to meet and exchange information, thereby building friendship and business relations.

The tournament will involve 10 teams and each company or team that wants to register should pay K75 000 before August 11.

The wining team will cart home K200 000 while second-placed, third-placed and foruth-placed teams will get K100 000, K75 000 and K50 000 respectively.

The games will be played on August 29 at National Police Headquarters in Area 30, Lilongwe. n
