FDH Financial Holdings chief executive officer Thomson Mpinganjira has tipped entrepreneurs in the country to avoid corruption if they want to succeed in business life.

Mpinganjira said this on Saturday in his presentation at the end of a four-day leadership seminar held at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre aimed at   imparting leadership skills to different professionals, especially  members of Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mpinganjira, an Adventist by faith, advised the delegates to the seminar not to fear creating wealth just because they are devoted Christians.

“Many people are reluctant to create more wealth because they are devoted Christians. They think rich people will not make it to heaven. That is not true.

“Let us engage in entrepreneurship, but we should avoid corruption. If you want to remain longer in business avoid corruption because it destroys business,” Mpinganjira said.

He also advised entrepreneurs to avoid making money through short cuts.

Chairperson of the seminar’s organising committee, Frank Muula, said the event was organised to encourage different professionals to do their job with high integrity and to avoid engaging in corruption and other vices.

“The skills that the participants have acquired during this seminar will help them in their businesses, workplace and homes. It is important for people to have integrity in whatever they do so that they gain trust and achieve success, which is not attached to corruption,” said Muula.

Other presenters at the seminar were retired politician George NgaNtafu, Attorney General KalekeniKaphale, Adamson Muula from College of Medicine and VannyMunyumbwe who is a lecturer at Rusangu University in Zambia.

A similar seminar took place for the first time last year at ProteaRyalls Hotel in Blantyre.
