Mponela United are relishing the prospect of facing crowd pullers Big Bullets today at Silver Stadium in a David versus Goliati affair.

Both Bullets and Mponela are smarting from exits from Carlsberg Cup on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Bullets were booted out by Kamuzu Barracks whereas Mponela United were shown the exit door by Blantyre United.

“Our performance is improving with every game. We are playing with more purpose now than ever. Little by little, our players are getting the Super League experience and developing confidence. It is exciting to face Bullets and to play before a large crowd. We hope to do well,” said Mponela coach Benjamin Kumwenda.

“Our players have recovered from the loss to Blantyre United. Playing with Bullets will be another completely different game altogether and we need to be focused. The key is not to be intimidated by the crowd,” said Kumwenda.

Bullets, who spent Wednesday and Thursday in Dedza, are also optimistic of a victory over Mponela and Blue Eagles tomorrow.

“Both assignments are tricky and we are not underestimating any team, but we have the capability to win both games. We hope to collect six points in Lilongwe,” said the club’s chairperson Malinda Chinyama.
