According to a programme released by Carlsberg Malawi through senior brands manager non-alcoholic Titha Mbilizi, the event will start at 8am and Chatipwa will be guest of honour.

“We look forward to exciting Coca-Cola consumers and football fans in Mponela. The programme includes music and football matches. The launch is a chance for people of all ages from Mponela and surrounding communities to come out, have fun and support their young people, who have been courageous enough to step out and reach for their dreams by registering for the tournament,” said Mbilizi.

According to the programme, the first football match will be between Dowa and Army Private secondary schools followed by some traditional dances and music from the Coca-Cola Fun Track.

In the afternoon, there will be another football match between last year’s Copa Coca-Cola winners Joyce Banda Foundation and Super League players who once played in the Copa Coca-Cola Cup such as Lucky Malata, Chawanangwa Kaonga (Silver Strikers), Onani Sengwa (Epac), Martin Masoatheka (Civo) and Maxwell Salambula (Blue Eagles).

This year, 1 085 schools have registered for the tournament.
