Mponela United coach Dennis Kumwenda said they are travelling to Lilongwe as underdogs, but will try to play their game.

The Dowa-based side on Wednesday had an audience with their parliamentarian Jean Kalirani who gave them moral support and also pledged to assist the team with some needs.

“It is a great motivation to the players to have MP Kalirani in person wishing them the best,” said Kumwenda.

Striker Mude Jeffrey and midfielder Malumbo Phiri have been influential in Mponela United’s success. Jeffrey was the club’s top goalscorer last season.

KB are optimistic about carrying the day despite having the majority of their players in military training.
