Epac FC chairperson TrickstonChiutsi has clarified that the team’s coach Leo Mpulula is on medical leave and not on suspension.

Chiutsi’s statement was meant to clarify media reports that Mpulula’s absence at Epac matches, including a 1-0 triumph over Silver Strikers on Sunday, was a result of a suspension over the team’s recent poor form.

But Chiutsi told The Nation: “Mpulula is not on suspension, but he is on a four-week medical leave. He is currently in Blantyre where he is getting medical attention following an illness.”

Few days ago, Mpulula also clarified that he had neither been fired nor suspended at Epac FC because there are no such clauses in his contract.

Mpulula said the only acceptable term is termination of contract, which has not been done at present.

“I still have a running contract with Epac FC.  I only came to Blantyre because I am ill. It surprises me when reports indicate that I am fired or suspended because there are no such clauses in my contract,” he said.
