Despite being beaten by Zimbabwean Fortunate Chiziwo, boxer Agnes Mtimaukanena’s sponsors Pharmanova believes she will retain her WBF title in Dubai next month.

Pharmanova has since pledged to support Mtimaukanena in her preparations for the bout against Krystal Onslow.

Mtimaukenana lost on points to Chiziwo. This was her first career loss as well her first fight under the Pharmanova brand.

Pharmanova sales and marketing manager Peter Makwana said they were impressed with her performance.

“We understood that she had stayed for seven months without fighting and that may have affected her. This was just a warm-up match. We have confidence she will do well in Dubai,” said Makwana.

He said they are planning an overseas camp for her before the Dubai trip.

“Her mangers and boxing stable will have to identify the best destination and we will sponsor her to get the best preparation,” said Makwana.

Mtimaukanena said she appreciates Pharmanova’s support and has vowed to succeed in Dubai.

Off the ring, Pharmonava is arranging a number of charity activities for Mtimaukanena this festive season.

“We are drawing a programme so that she goes around making donations to hospitals and orphanages. We will communicate soon,” said Makwana.
