In an interview yesterday, Mtumbuka expressed excitement over the deployment, saying his major goal would be to spearhead the innovation and elevation of IT to competitive levels in Airtel Malawi and Zambia.

He said: “It is exciting to be endowed with such a huge task. However, I will be working hand in hand with our IT personnel to invest our all in a bid to make our territory competitive and reliable IT wise.”

The deployment of Mtumbuka adds value to the commitment of Airtel in diversifying its local and international human resource managerial experiences.

Last year, Airtel headquarters posted several Malawians, including Mtumbuka, to undertake various strategic managerial portfolios across Africa. n
