There is K2 million (about $5 555) up for grabs during the Easter weekend from MultiChoice Malawi in the DStv Rewards promotion, the firm’s sales and marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda said on Tuesday.

The promotion, for all DStv bouquet options, gives away a million Kwacha every week to one winner but Nyirenda said this is a gift for a special period.

“Next week is a special week for Christians as they will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and because of that, we have decided to add an additional one million Kwacha for the winner to spoil his/her family during this festival,” said Nyirenda.

Nyirenda said this when Multichoice handed over a surprise million kwacha cheque to its sixth winner, Andrew Kingstone Phiri, owner of Kingstone Motors, from Chirimba Township in Blantyre.

Phiri, who was overwhelmed with the prize, said he was very happy as he has been a very faithful subscriber since DStv started.

“It is a surprise as I was not expecting that on a day like this I could be a million kwacha richer,” said Phiri.
