The artist, born Penjani Kalua, has always created music that has constantly been appealing.
Think of Malamulo Amu Ghetto, Ndikatseka Maso, Phokoso, Nambewe and Changes, among others.
These are some of the tracks that stand out and have made Fredokiss win the hearts of hip-hop fanatics, especially the youths.
The Ghetto Gutter Entertainment rapper, who since the start of his career in the early 2000s has only released one album, the 2011 Kunditcha Fredo, has managed to position himself well and cannot be left out when it comes to the finest in the game; his lyrical content is transversal with a delivery which is always on point and classy in staging.
Just this year, the artist, fondly known as minister of the ghetto affairs amongst his followers, released three music videos that did not only exhibit how mature and serious he has become with his craft but also proved that Malawi is moving with trends in audio and visual production.
The current videos include Tipsy, featuring 4Sight, the controversial Ukudziwa Kale featuring the Daredevilz and the most recent Marathon which features the rapper’s longtime associate Ace Dirty.
Music is an investment and Fredokiss’ productions, both audio and visuals, clearly tells you that he is an artist with vision and has certainly been putting in the money in his music trade.
One music business dynamic says ‘If you want to take your music career past the ‘making music in your bedroom’ stage [and start making money], you will need to invest in it’.
Fredokiss has been investing and this should definitely pay dividends with his second album which comes out this summer and the projects to follow.

As a way of giving back to the communities, the people that listen to his music and their families, the rapper established Ghetto Shoulder Initiative in 2014.
The charity organisation, which is aimed at taking care of vulnerable children and reaching out to marginalised groups, has so far shared lunch with street kids at Agape House of Hope in Blantyre and has also reached out to the people who were affected by the recent floods that hit the country. He is a hip-hop gem in Malawi.
