Musician Waache finalising his album

Three months after recording his seventh single Umependeza, Blantyre-based rapper Waache, real name Titus Herman, is in the studio to complete recording his remaining four songs of  the 12-track album.

In an interview on Wednesday, the musician  said he is finalising four songs of his debut album which he plans to launch early this year.

Waache: My fans should expect more

The hits enjoying airplay on local radio and television stations include the latest Umependeza and Kwenikweni released in October last year.

Said Waache: “My fans should expect more good songs in my debut album and I am optimistic that they will love the album as they love other songs.

Umependeza, a Swahili titled track, appreciates a woman’s beauty.  It means looking nice or attractive. The song features Kell Kay and is produced by Henwood.

Kwenikweni is a love song about a man with a broken heart, asking a girl what he should do for her to accept him. Despite all the good things he does to the her, she still breaks his heart.”

The artist, a song writer and actor in Spouses and Workmates, a local television series in which he acts as a blind man, plans to name his album Platinum Dream.

So far Waache, a Standard Bank plc employee, has done collaborations with artists such as Kell Kay, Bucci, Blaze, Black Jak and Sam Smak in his new album project.

Asked why he engaged a lot of artists in a single album, he said: “The album was designed to have more collaborations.”

The producers he has worked with in the debut album include OBK, Dj Slay, Tricky Beats, Sispence and Henwood.
